Me-Fitter (me-fitter.com) is run by me, Brett Patterson. This page explains what information is collected when you visit the site, how it’s used, and the choices you have. I keep things simple here: I don’t sell your personal information, and I only collect what I need to run the site.
Information You Give Me
- Email sign-ups. When you sign up for a freebie like the Free Portion Control Cheat Sheet, you give me your email address (and sometimes your first name). I use it to send you what you asked for and occasional emails from Me-Fitter. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Comments. If you leave a comment, the site stores your name, email address, website (if you add one), comment text, and IP address. Your email is never shown publicly.
- Emails you send me. If you contact me directly, I’ll use your message and email address only to reply.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, Me-Fitter uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small files stored in your browser. They help the site work, show me which content is useful, and allow partners to track referrals and serve ads.
Third-Party Services I Use
- Amazon Associates. Me-Fitter is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Third parties, including Amazon, may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons to collect information, when you click Amazon links or view Amazon content on this site.
- Google Analytics. I use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use the site, like which pages are read and how people find them. Google collects information such as your general location, device, browser, and pages visited. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Google AdSense. This site may show ads served by Google. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ad Settings. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Kit (ConvertKit). My email list is managed by Kit. When you sign up, your email address is stored on Kit’s servers under Kit’s privacy policy.
- Akismet. Comments are checked for spam by Akismet, which receives your comment details and IP address. See Automattic’s privacy policy.
- Gravatar. If you comment, an anonymized string created from your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check whether you have a profile picture.
Other affiliate partners I link to may also use cookies to track referrals. You can read more about how I earn money in my Affiliate Disclosure.
How I Use Information
- To send you emails and freebies you asked for
- To display and moderate comments
- To understand which content helps readers so I can make it better
- To earn affiliate and advertising income that keeps the site running
- To keep the site secure and free of spam
I do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Your Choices
- Cookies: You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well without them.
- Emails: Click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any email.
- Your data: You can ask me to tell you what personal information I have about you, or to correct or delete it, by emailing me. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the European Union), you may have additional privacy rights, and I will honor those requests.
How Long Information Is Kept
Comments and their details are kept as long as the comment is on the site. Email subscribers are kept until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Analytics data is kept according to Google’s retention settings.
Children’s Privacy
Me-Fitter is written for adults. I don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given me their information, email me and I’ll delete it.
Health Information Disclaimer
Content on Me-Fitter is for general information only and isn’t medical advice. Please don’t send me private health or medical information.
Changes to This Policy
I may update this page as the site changes. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised.
